Sharon is a descendant of a settler family that arrived in Fiji in 1869 to grow cotton in Ra. Born in Suva 1948. The youngest of eight children. Educated at Suva Grammar School and Business College, Auckland, Sharon has no formal art training other than high school lessons from the famous Mary Edwell-Bourke who taught art at Suva Grammar School.
She was always sketching and drawing as a child. If there is a pencil and paper in the vicinity Sharon will start doodling. Sharon started painting in 2003 (after 15 years of painting apparel for the tourist market) Encouraged by a 2nd place in the Arts Club exhibition, she has enjoyed painting ever since. She has won a few awards.

A lot of her paintings have been selected by leading hotels. (foyes and room décor) Also are in board rooms and in various business houses.
Her painting “1st. Voyage” was selected by the Fiji Government as a gift and presented to the Government of New Zealand by the Prime Minister in 2004 and the painting ‘Vulnerable’ presented by Fiji Vice President to the new NZ Governor General in 2006.
‘Although I do paint on canvas now, I still love to paint on Tapa. I use the tapa as a collage. It is strong and resilient, creates its own texture and give the painting a three dimensional look.
Sharon also designs & paints Fiji Stamps for the Fiji Philatelic Bureau.
Sharon is married with three sons and three grand-children.
